Shaker boxes are not only easy to make but adds a ton of personality to any paper craft. Depending on your supplies you can add a great deal of  dimension and  make your  project more interactive.

What you need to start:

What you need to make a shaker box
  • Cardstock/paper
  • Scissors
  • Double sided foam tape
  • Plastic sheet protector/ or any clear plastic
  • Double sided tape/Glue
  • Small beads or glitter/ anything small that could be move able
  • Paper Punch, any shape

Directions:

Cutting the pieces for the shaker box

1- Cut 2 pieces of cardstock/paper and 1 plastic sheet  into exactly the same size and shape. One piece of cardstock will be your background of your box. With the second piece, cut out the center (kind of like a picture frame). You can use any type of punch, as long as it leaves a border or frame. This will be the window or "see through" part to your box.

Add adhesive to the edges of the shaker box.

2- With the cut out piece of paper added your adhesive around the edges and then place the plastic sheet to it. This will be the top of your shaker box. Set a side.

Place the filler in the box

3- Line the edges of the background paper/ the bottom sheet, with double sided foam tape. This makes a container for whatever you have picked to add to your shaker box, also know as your filler, this could be sand, glitter or beads. Place your filler you have chosen inside, being careful not to get your fillers stuck to the tape.

Completed shaker box

4- For the final step. Remove the backing of the foam tape then place the top of your shaker box and press firmly. If you notice any static cling on your plastic sheet rub a fabric softener sheet on it until the cling is gone.

There you have it, your fast and easy shaker box is done and ready to add to your paper craft.
